Information ahead of the procurement of actively managed Healthcare and Biotech funds

Today, 22 June, the Fund Selection Agency is publishing draft procurement specifications for upcoming procurements of actively managed Healthcare and Biotech funds focusing on large- and mid‑cap companies.

The Swedish Fund Selection Agency plans to conduct two parallel, yet separate, procurements within these fund categories. The procurements are expected to affect approximately 250,000 savers and cover the eleven funds currently available in these categories on the fund platform, with total assets of approximately SEK 24.9 billion in healthcare funds and SEK 2.2 billion in biotech funds.

The draft procurement specifications are published to enable potential tenderers to prepare for the procurements and to review the requirements planned ahead of the formal procurement process. For both fund categories, the requirements include, among other things, active management, a UCITS structure, accumulation share classes, sustainability reporting in accordance with SFDR Article 8 or 9, and minimum levels of activity relative to the fund’s benchmark index. Further details on these requirements and other restrictions are set out in each procurement specification.

Questions and comments on the draft specifications should be sent to procurement@ftn.se no later than xx. The published documents are drafts. The final, legally binding procurement specifications will be adopted and published in connection with the formal announcement of the procurements
