Swedish Fund Selection Agency, FTN named European Pension Fund of the Year
FTN has received international recognition and has been named European Pension Fund of the Year at the 2025 IPE Awards. FTN has also been awarded European Public Pension Fund of the Year and Swedish Pension Fund of the Year for its work to strengthen the Swedish pension system.
The IPE jury highlights FTN’s combination of operational efficiency, solid investment performance and a modern, robust governance framework. The jury also underlines FTN’s thorough and transparent selection process for external asset managers as an example of best practice in governance and fiduciary responsibility.
The reshaping of Sweden’s first-pillar pension system is described as a forward-looking approach, combining strong oversight with participant involvement through an independently operated, state-procured defined contribution fund platform.
