About the Swedish Fund Selection Agency
The Swedish Fund Selection Agency is an authority with a mandate to procure, monitor and quality-ensure funds for the premium pension fund platform. The government authority consists of a board appointed by the goverment, and an office responsible for the operational tasks.
The task of FTN
The aim of the Swedish Fund Selection Agency, FTN, is to procure funds of high quality and various risk profiles for the fund platform for the premium pension. It will also enter into fund agreements with those fund managers which offer funds at the platform.
FTN is an authority financed by fees, meaning that it is financed outside the state budget, in order to secure long term targets and independency in the organisation as well as the procurements.

Organisation
The Swedish Fund Selection Agency is a board authority (sw. nämndmyndighet) that is governed by a board of seven members. The board makes all strategic decisions concerning FTN's task and the procurements of funds to the premium pension fund platform, such as decisions regarding the business plan, the procurement plan, notice of procurements, award decisions, governance and related documents, and more. The operational tasks of the board is conducted in the office of FTN. The office prepares the board with material for decision-making, manages the day-to-day administrative activities as well as all practical matters regarding the procurement of the funds. Read more about the office of FTN here.
The Swedish Fund Selection Agency further consists of an administrative office which is responsible for all the operational tasks. The Swedish Pensions Agency serves as host agency for the Swedish Fund Selection Agency, which entails providing administrative services.
